Re <<China's best engineers are getting better and better at producing consumer goods. Don't see how this can end well long term. Just a matter of time.>>

I add a bit of colour that it looks to me sitting here like a competition between Chinese American STEM folks and Chinese Chinese STEM folks, and as Team USA was and remains keen to cull Chinese American STEM folks out of its ranks, turning them into Chinese Chinese STEM folks, the result shall be more predictable than ever could have been :0)

Is why Core Comrade Xi does not comment on what in essence is American internal policy towards its STEM folks, and only welcomes the resultant Chinese American STEM refugees to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hefei, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chongqing, Shenzhen, and and and

The MSM and their handlers are intent to make a weapon out of a space craft. Maybe they are right, perhaps wrong, but doubtless the 'thing' can fly, and fast :0)

additional point, that most STEM folks in China are able to engage w/ their chosen field in a foreign language, whether English, Russia, German, or Japanese

OTOH, I am doubtful that the reverse is true

So, over time, I think a gap can easily open up until such time STEM folks elsewhere can engage w/ their chosen field in Chinese

Potentially, imaginable to me, that China, whilst reverting to the 35% of global GDP, might also open up the gap of STEM, not as once was at 150 years, but say, a modest 30 years :0)

We shall see, as the ecosystem flourish
