Allan F--You can get the silver in coins or bullion in coin stores.
I am a small town boy though they may have better sources in the big cities. I have a few kilos in silver but just a few ounces in gold. Hard to invest the damn stuff.
All the Best

[ Silver ] Hi, Allen.

If you are gonna buy some silver you might as well get some you can play with too.

The Mardigras is financed by Silver Doubloons. 1 Troy oz .999 fine. Since it was once a US Mint Town "O" there are still a lot of Fine Engravers there. The coin shops will sell last years at spot if you talk to them a bit and buy enough.

You should see some of these beauties. Talk about Craftsmen.
I still have a few leftovers from the Hunt Bros. run-up to 49.00 an oz. I was buying all I could find at 7 to 17. But I couldn't part with the best of them. Even at the top.

Couldn't sell the Victor David Brenner Commemorative either. It's about 10 oz. He was the Master Engraver / Designer of the Mercury dime and the Lincoln Cent.

It should be worth more than the smelt value.

One side of this coin is Mercury in Fine detail. The other side has Brenner and Abe on it.

It sits on my desk as a paperweight / momento.

BTW: It's a heck of an excuse to go to New Orleans. :)

Ray

[my political statement for this year]
as we all know much of what we think say, or feel has been done/felt 1000 times before. I have found a passage that i feel describes the bulk of my sentiment towards government...
I love this country because it allows US the freedom to "do what we want" (this freedom is paid for dearly~ so it is a paid for privelege)

<<<"Ever since States came into existence, the political world has always been and continues to be the stage for high knavery and unsurpassed brigandage--brigandage and knavery which are held in high honor, since they are ordainedby patriotism, by transcendent morality, and by the supreme interest of the State. This explains to us why all the history of ancient and modern States is nothing more than a series of revolting crimes; why past and present kings and ministers of all times and all countries-- statesman, diplomats, bureaucrats, and warriors-- if judged from the point of view of simple morality and human justice, deserve a thousand times the gallows or penal servitude.
For there is no terror, cruelty, sacrilege, perjury, imposture, infamous transaction, cynical theft, brazen robbery, or foul treason which has not been and is still not being committed daily by representatives of the State.
by Michael Bakunin
that's all i hafta say about that.
