Ten specific allegations of harassment had been made against Lincoln Project co-founder John Weaver, two of which involved employees of the organization. Weaver’s patterns of behavior, which had been alleged in Republican circles going back decades, involved sending private messages to young gay men, even as young as 15, discussing work and career opportunities and then pivoting to topics like their bodies and sexual and romantic preferences. Leaders of the group had phone calls in June and August of 2020 to discuss the accusations, and although they promised to investigate and Weaver quietly left on medical leave, nothing was ever officially made public about the allegations or even mentioned until January of this year after several media outlets published damning exposés on Weaver’s repeated misconduct. ***** I know this disturbs you, given how homophobic you are.
