What I mean is that the unvaxxed who haven’t been previously infected have no immunity. They’re the ones who will have the more severe response to Omicron because it appears that it is not intrinsically less dangerous than the original or Delta variant.

To think of Omicron as less dangerous appears to be wrong. As a population, so many of us have some level of immunity that its overall impact is lessened. We should definitely see fewer deaths from Omicron. It also means we’re on the way to herd immunity. But the unvaxxed who don’t have some level of immunity from a previous infection are at much higher risk of a serious illness.
