This is a lesson for people. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. If people depend on politicized government health intervention in the future they deserve what they get

But there is a kicker...

From the article:

"Of the new infections reported today, 2,146 cases involved people who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown. The rest of the 7,425 infections involved people who are fully vaccinated."

"There are currently at least 508 people being treated for COVID-19 in Ontario hospitals. Health Minister Christine Elliott reported that of those patients, 355 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 153 are fully vaccinated."

toronto.ctvnews.ca

Inference:

SO, The ratio of fully vaccinated, newly reported infections to hospitalized fully vaccinated is: 1 in 48.5.
BUT, The ratio for unvaccinated, newly reported infections to hospitalized infected is: 1 in 6!

IE: the smaller number of total hospitalized unvaccinated is most likely misleading in a place like Ontario where the majority are fully vaccinated.

Yes I know its a bit kludgy building a ratio like that and it leaves a lot unanswered, but it supports that at least part of the vaccine "advertising" is true. IE that being vaccinated greatly reduces your odds of being hospitalized or dying from Covid-19.

The numbers from the article also support that the rest of the vaccine "advertising" is utter BS. IE:
  • that the vaccine will help stop the pandemic
  • that you are protecting others by getting vaccinated
  • that children should be vaccinated even if they are very low risk themselves for these reasons
  • that social distancing, masking, travel restrictions, and work from home will help stop the pandemic
  • etc.

Ontario not reporting new case details until Wed Dec 29th. Should be eye popping numbers imho.
