Well, Mike, As my post divorce (but had nothing to do with it) girl friend would say....glub...glub.... :) Actually, I sold the Q off for a good sized profit in the lower sixties during the first serious Asian decline. I rebought a small (1/3) position at a hair (1/8) under 50 after it started back up following the first part of the last decline. Seriously considered selling that off last week, early this in mid 50s but didn't. I sold all that out today for a one point loss. Don't plan to rebuy until the earliest of: 1) mid 30s; 2) the market in general again steeply declines on Asian worries and starts back up again; 3) 7 or so months from now. Or more or less. I believe in the long term story very much indeed, but Qcom is a poster child for Korean impact on the US, and I think it will get considerably worse before better. Meanwhile, loaded up on gstrf from 45 down to 40.5, where I really got excited. Looking rather sweet now. To say the least. We're talking about a three or four times (my) normal sized position there. I suspect that even Gstrf/Lor will experience some Asian impact worries as the market worries that Asia hits its bottom at end 98, beginning on 99, and continues to look bad for much of that year. (May not in fact last that long, but so far we have hardly overestimated the impact on the US, or the longevity of the problems.) Of course, I took a serious hit in a normal sized position in Efii (which I decided to hold, thank god, since it is marching back steadily, if slowly), and also took a hit in Gnt. The later I think was rather stupid of me; the former, bad luck. Doug
