I think we may have the answer. Biden (or his advisory group, whatever) announced that there is no way to solve the CoViD problem at the federal level. The states will be responsible. And, as we know, state governments are more sensitive about pissing off large segments of their populations.

I suspect it may be related to the SCOTUS planning to review the constitutionality of mandates this coming January. So, they may be changing strategy to prevent a big embarrassment.

This will have international repercussions.

Yeah…. Even the most useless of pols have never been so useful - or so they like to think. In reality, for the most part, they’re worse than useless. Issuing rules and “mandates” about things they know next to nothing - and the really bad part is they impose those rules without a trace of humility, with zero respect for people. The next chance - next November. There ought to be a price to pay for this mischief.
