Great question, and I wish I knew. There are a number of small companies working on proprietary protocols that are more in line with what the IETF is supposedly thinking than RSVP is, setting up policy servers, with (hopefully) ubiquitous policy agents so their server can manage them, but I don't know of anyone who has a story with all the pieces in place (or on the horizon, for that matter). Do you have a candidate?
