"double digit range" for
next quarter!"

Wrong. He said some sort of double digits down the line. Not next quarter.

Is it possible that by "some sort," he is literally correct if down the line meant not only 2 or 3 or 4 quarters from now, but it meant more than one quarter combined?

EWhat kingd of man is the CEO?

He said that he does not know what the installed base of PCs is -- not even within a couple million. Think about this. Either he does know, and it is embarrassing, and he's lying about not knowing. Or he really doesn't know an obviously extremely significant metric for his company, a metric so significant that Ms. Bessmer (sp?) had to volunteer that they would track it going forward.

Isn't installed base the basis of royalties? I would guess that Angelo did not want to answer the question because it implies that he has pretty direct knowledge of future royalties, and he elected not to share, even hint at this.

Why? The bad reasons come to mind a lot quicker than the positive.

Any positive interpretations to Angelo's non response to the installed base question?
