Maybe there are places in the US a single person can live on with $31,000 in GROSS pay ($15/hr) can live on.

As I am in Canada, I checked out the warehouse worker’s wage in the Toronto area. It’s Can $16.

After deductions this translates to a net income of approximately $28,000 or $2,300/mo. There is no way you can survive on $2,300 in Toronto unless you live under a bridge or in your parent’s basement.
