I dont own the fund so I dont know exactly-- but it looks like some sort of a "rights offering"?

You can read up on what a rights offering is here:

You can buy or sell your rights if you wish but if you wish not to act the rights will disappear from your account after the settlement date.

I chose not to do anything at this time.

Often times when a "rights offering" is announced, depending on what the offer is, it can cause dilution to the fund.

When BST came out with an offering, I had a triple digit gain in the fund so I sold it all to lock in those profits. Once the offering was settled, I was able to buy BST back at lower prices.

It doesn't appear that SPE's offering will be as dilutive as BST was so I'm simply ignoring it. We'll see if that was the correct move or not.
