Tony,

I do want to control as many shares as I can. But to be honest, I do not know all that much about economics and finance. I made it through college without ever taking courses in either (I started out in Mathematics and Physics and ended up with a doctorate in Computer Science after lots of detours). I keep meaning to do something about my ignorance, but I just don't have the time.

I started investing as a game of sorts. Most of my time is spent in a research environment and investing is a hobby of sorts (retirement will come out of TIAA-CREF, a defined benefits plan from my employer plus social security so I am not even doing it for that). My other hobby is molecular biology so investing in biotech stocks has some appeal to me.

I am fairly aggressive when I invest and I can afford to since the money I have on line is not needed to take care of my family either now or for the foreseable future. But I try to stick to things I feel I understand reasonably well and so far, that is really only stocks and a warrants (depending on what the warrant entitles you to). This is also the first time that I have ventured into warrants and I have learned a great deal from the rather spirited discussion here.

There are times when I feel that the posters are getting a bit too personal. But at the same time, I consider myself lucky in that I get to sit there and look at all the different points of view. It is quite useful when you get used to filtering out some of the verbiage :-)

Cheers, Torben
