And, IMO, eventually it will be seen as similar to tulips. Or rather, they will be seen as less valuable than tulips as the latter looks and smells nice. Bitcoin is wonderful for people who want to launder dirty money, of which there is a huge amount in the world. Either there will be a crackdown on it or the world will be drowning in far more corruption than we already have.

Money is a stand-in for value.

In all instances, 100% of the time, money represents something of value, which is why if I sell you my car I will accept your money in payment. No other reason. Duh.

You really don't know much about this subject. Did you ever study economics at all? Ever had a course in Money & Banking?

>> Bitcoins are valuable because some people regard them as such.

Could a bitcoin be worth $50,000 if you and I could create them by the 100s in our homes as we ate breakfast?

Everything you mention simply proves my simple explanation. Hilarious.

RE: Tulips -- they weren't worth anything in 1638.

I changed my opinion about MMT when I learned about it.
The similar thing happened when I entered crypto word.
It was stunning - different language, different mentality, tons of new things and processes.
Then I realized that all the stereotypes about cryptos - "Hoax", "Tulip", "Fiction", "means to laundry dirty money" - they are all wrong.
Imagine the currency that represents real value or business and not created or regulated by any government or bank.
What is it? It's a revolution - a move to freedom, to self- organized society, where all the power belongs not to corrupted fat cats like Trump, but to the people...
Is it possible? May be not, but at least it worth to try.
