Barbara Mr. Arms is plain confused as are most of us. I was thinking a week ago that I will be net short by today but I am leaving my long position running with close stops.

Everything points to a down move, but nothing drastic until the end of month. Lets see Bill's weekly indicators tomorrow. will start to place short positions by begining of next week (I hope).

BB Barron's Based forecasts,

Feb 7 1998 Weekly=UP
M=d,Tu=d,W=d,Th=d VIX=400 points down
VGY=Buy DJIA mom (377) =near peak
Gut feeling - down before up Volatility=increasing
Overall-not down

Evaluation:of last week's forecast: Weekly-Wrong again
Daily-60% right Gut feelings: right
Last week was another bummer. although gut feelings were right

BB... how can I be calling for a move up??? Well the Barron's indicators are opposed indicating volatility and the most actives are REALLY getting low. What this means is rank speculation is entering the markets and Wednesday could be a wild day. Remember, we have had extreme volatility 2 weeks before expiration... so this could be one of those weeks coming up.

Interesting formation on 34 day ROC on INDU. We COULD be a week away from a very strong sell-off. But on the other hand, longer term ROCs show a distinct possibility of a bullish break in the downtrend... and if we get much higher on the DOW, then 9,500 here we come!
