I agree with your view of the upside/downside. Technically it is a very good play. I would like to make a comment on the state of the communications industry in general and the competitors of SPTR. There are many copper cable manufacturers that have recently purchased fiber companies. Two of them are Prestolite and BranRex. Prestolite purchased a small fiber cable manufacturer named Northern lights and Branrex purchased a cable manufacturers named Remee that currently has a fiber cable manufacturing division. Most large copper cable manufacturers have to be aligned or own a fiber cable manufacturer in order to offer the full datacom and telecom product line. General Cable has entered into a joint venture with SPTR for General Photonics( fiber cable manufacturing division). If you are familiar with the cable industry it is clearly evident that a consolidation is taking place.

SPTR has value not only technically but also as a take over candidate.
