"In fact, 'your side' is probably thinking that the only good cop is a dead cop." I've actually worked on a few dead or nearly dead cops, and I don't recall thinking that I'd be doing society a favor by letting them die. I'd rather see more good cops out on the streets, and more bad cops in prison. I'd also like to see a lot fewer guns in circulation.
