You know, if we could actually build anything that could transfer information over 20 meters with a self-contained power supply and be essentially invisible, it would be an astonishing feat. Much less anything as complicated as bluetooth. The RFID tags that are used in animals use a 1.4mm needle, which is much larger than what is used for vaccines. The RFID tag doesn't have a range of 20 meters because it doesn't have a power supply. It harvests energy from the reader. And it just transmits a small amount of information. Now I grant you that it would be possible to make the tags smaller, but not so small you couldn't see them. Certainly not small enough to pass through a typical vaccine needle. And, unless it could gain energy from, say blood glucose, it wouldn't have the range of 20 meters through an arbitrary amount of body tissue. But it would be great if it could! Smart dust wouldn't be some dream of the future.

I have no idea who the guy consulted with, but the technology to read a person's genome and generate a MAC address is not going to be in an essentially invisible chip. And what would be the need? A MAC address, in this case it would be the BD_ADDR to be technical, is already supposed to be unique for every device. So for every miracle chip that is injected, it should have its own unique address. And if they have more than one, they should have multiple ones. So you have to wonder about the people he consulted with if they didn't know this.

This is something I have some knowledge of. I have decades of experience in embedded computers and my master's thesis was on routing across peer to peer wireless networks. I have recently been dabbling in IoT.
