Getting Synvisc at the Pharmacy ............

Based on the letter below -

Synvisc:

COST $600 - NOT $500 - when purchased at the Pharmacy.

(Please note:Go back about 3 months. Someone said
how are the doctors going to carry this
inventory?

Answer:They are NOT.

The patient - at least in this case - gets it from
the pharmacy.)

So I guess the pharmacy is ADDING A 20% MARGIN
to their cost.

$500 * 1.2%

And doctors cost is $175 for 3 injections.

Total Cost = $775

The person receiving this letter from the writer is
being charged a total of $750 for Synvisc treatment.

I have edited to (1) change names (2) and put ***
around $ amounts.

It appears the writer wrote some sentences twice.

I just completed the last of 3 injections of synvisc
in my left knee.

My doctor wrote the perscription
for the Synvisc which I had to pick up at the pharmacy.
The cost for the perscription alone for the

three injections was ****** $600 *********

so ****** $750 ****** for the whole treatment does
not sound out of line to me.

I begin my first of three injections in my right
knee next week. The jury is still out as to whether
or not the Synvisc is helping but I have high hopes.

I've had knee pain for 6 years.I just completed the
