The G3 chips you're looking at are a brand new design and are fabbed on .25u process. Moreover, G3-based computers are selling faster than Apple had anticipated, so supply and demand are out of whack. So what do you expect? I don't see Intel selling very many .25u Pentium II's yet, either, and that's a design Intel has been using for a year now.
