CGI Group - analyst sets target at $45

From today's Financial Post outlining Robert McWhirter's (Royal Bank Investment Management) analysis.

CGI Group Inc. (GIB.a/TSE - $35)

The Montreal-based company provides information technology services in Canada, the U.S. and Britain. "It is benefiting from the trend to outsource this service." First quarter profit to December rose almost 379%, with revenue up 175%. Earnings per share estimates are $0.49 for fiscal 1998, ending September, and $0.95 for fiscal 1999.

The stock is trading at around 70 times the fiscal 1998 estimate and 36 times the 1999 estimate. This, said McWhirter, implies high risk But it is partially offset by the fact that CGI's price earnings multiple relative to its forecast earnings growth, at 0.48 for fiscal 1998 and 0.38 for 1999, is substantially below the 0.7 median ratio for the sector.

The one year target price on the stock is $45.
