Under what conditions are you having trouble?

If I open up 4 or 5 windows at one time it sometimes locks up and freezes.

When I run my dial up network to start my modem (US robotics) it original would turn the speaker on to monitor the telephone line until the modem negotiated the connection then it would turn off the speaker. Now it doesn't do this but this is no big deal even though it would be nice to see how things are progressing in the connection.

I can't run a lot of old games on win95, it just doesn't run even when I set it to run in the MS dos mode under the properties menu.

My internet call manager which allows me to display telephone calls coming in when I'm on the internet doesn't work anymore and I don't plan on reinstalling win95 to make it work. The pop up error message I receive won't even let me ignore it. I have reinstalled Win95 3 times in 1 year and frankly I'm tired of it.

I only use Win95 for the internet since it lets me run more than one window at a time other wise I don't bother with it for any other application.

I have been involved in computers from the CP/M days and I can tell you that for this day and age Win95 is a total disaster as a consumer product. The think I can't figure out is why somebody else hasn't come up with a better system. Could it be MS monopoly has prevented any innovations for the poor old consumer like you and me or could Java save the day. If Java and the NC does what they say it will then I will kiss my Windows OS good bye once and for all and I can get on with just running applications instead of playing around with the OS which is why I bought a computer for in the first place.

Don't get me wrong MS has done a lot for the computing world but it hasn't address the average computer user who knows squat about windows but just wants to run applications. If MS would have stated that buying Win95 to run applications and play around with the OS then I won't be mad at them. The problem is that they don't state this anywhere other than how great Windows is which IMHO isn't. Didn't Bill G. say he wants every house hold to own a computer but he forgot about lets keep it simple stupid. The reason why I presently dislike MS is that Java and the NC is a super concept to solve this problem but of course it's not in the financial interest for MS so guess who gets shafted. -- The average computer user.

Look how SI spell checker works. Now that's user friendly and it's not even running on your computer it's running on SI's. The internet,Java and breaking up MS will cure the present problem as I have stated above.
