MrB, The filtering I envision would only be in effect on the "next" button, not on any of the other message navigation options. Would this not adequately address your concerns?

Jerard, Enjoyed your comments and suggestions. One feature I've seen implemented that I like, is where the poster has to "check" the type of message before submitting it, eg "Comment - under 10 lines", "Opinion - over 9 lines", "Help", "News Releases", etc. Before the options would be a "Don't Show" or "Always Show" operator. I could then read the short threads in their entirety and as I get to the longer threads, start adding more filters. Now by the time I've read the short threads, I only have time to read about 10 or so messages of the longer threads.

David, Your comment "I do want the ability to ignore certain posters and then to be able to see the list of "most ignored" members [the public ridicule part]." We certainly are in agreement on the first part, however I'm not comfortable with the ridicule part. I may not have the time to read or respond to someone, but I still respect their efforts to post, even though they may be perceived to have a "problem"

Zeuspaul, I like the basic thread concept as it presently implemented. There are times I'm just after "information" and I'd like the ability to be selective. For example, threads that have a 100 posts or more a day are obvious examples of ones I would like to filter. Other times after returning from a trip, I would also like to able to be more selective than just simply "hitting" the "Reset" button.

Have fun and good investing!

Cheers, Bob

>> Don't fix it if it ain't broke

The best plan, but many think it's at least bent a little.

One of my suggestions earlier I think would have addressed
this concern, namely, I'd like to have the first couple of
lines of the NEXT message visible, along with a SKIP button
which would put the first couple of lines of the following
message up.

>>To ignore 10 posts will take you less than a minute.

You're right, sometimes, sometimes it takes more. That seems
quick, but plowing through 2-3 hundred messages even at
that rate takes a long time. Speeding it up would be VERY
beneficial to me and I suspect to others.

Well, you've made good points anyhow. Discussion is what
it's about.
