His point was to get out of your lease buy a used car or bicycle.

I always pay cash and then drive the car/truck for ever. I own a 1998 F150 just over 100K, works great no issues other than replacing the fuel pump located in the fuel tank. Other car is a 2005 Passat Diesel wagon 65K. Great performance and excellent gas mileage (32-38 mpg).

FWIW, bought my 1998 F150 over the Internet, leather interior, captains chair w/ remote V8; paid $17K cash. Only gets 12-15 mpg but has served my needs well.

I keep the truck garaged for 6 months when I am at the lake property.

Would love to upgrade to one vehicle and like the dependability of the diesel (owned Mercedes and now the Passat) . However, not many available anymore. Probably will get a Subaru like everybody else at the lake drive.

Just can not see these farmers paying upwards of $95K for these new pickups. Just wish I kept my Ford stock as they are finally hitting on all cylinders. People like their EV line but I still like their trucks.
