< If they don't kill it, kudos to SFAM investors for being
intelligent. >

As an SFAM investor, I'm not feeling particularly intelligent
at this point in time. Just because I'm a long term SFAM investor
does not make short term paper losses acceptable. Everyone has a threshold of pain and dead money is bad business. The message I got from the last Q's earnings announcement CC was that SFAM had LIMITED SE ASIA EXPOSURE and they sounded optimistic about deals with NEW NON-SE ASIA CUSTOMERS. What happened? Maybe I need to get my hearing checked, I did not expect this. My expectations were for business to continue as usual based on the TONE OF THE CC, the HIGH QUALITY OF SFAM's PRODUCTS and the fact that CMP IS A CRITICAL PATH TECHNOLOGY for the semi industry. I did not detect a negative outlook from the CC, did I miss something? Well, the facts are the facts and my hat is off to SFAM management for pre-announcing the results. It's the ethical/responsible thing to do and the street expects that level of
communication. I was sucker punched by APM a couple quarters ago when they did not pre-announce their miserable earnings shortfall, the rest is history. Although it's not spilled milk, I do not perceive the SFAM announcement as a disaster. I hope the knee-jerk gamblers out there sell SFAM to 1996 prices as predicted by previous posts. I'm not selling a single share, I will be buying big time at the idiots garage sale if it happens. This is a speed bump for Speedfam...

Even assuming that after hours trades are a bad indicator, why would anyone have been buying SFAM at 27 after the halt was lifted? I don't get it. And who wouldn't have wanted to sell at that price if they could? What is the purpose of this after hours trading in the first place?

Dennis

Michael, are you really going to buy SFAM if it is hurt Monday? I respect your opinion. Now that the news is out it seems like a good opportunity for those who follow the company and like it.
