Donald Trump is trashing Ron DeSantis in private as an ingrate with a "dull personality" and no realistic chance of beating him in a potential 2024 showdown, according to sources who've recently talked to the former president about the Florida governor.

I see you might be interested in buying a pretty orange bridge... "Stupid is. as..stuipid does...." says Forrest Gump

Only an unwashed uneducated gruber (and Trump hater Ann Coulter) would call this "trashing": DUH!!

“If I faced him, I'd beat him like I would beat everyone else,” Trump said.

Trump boasted confidence in his ability to receive the Republican nomination again if he ran in 2024 but said he was not ready to commit this early.

“If I do run, I think that I’ll do extremely well,” he said, saying that he based his predictions on polling and “enthusiasm” from voters.

In the same article (supposedly) Mr Trump also said:

Trump has lauded DeSantis's work as a governor and has played into people's speculation that he and DeSantis would make a good campaign duo, subbing out former Vice President Mike Pence for DeSantis.

"They like that. ... I'm just saying what I read and you read. They love that ticket," Trump said in April.

Neither Trump nor DeSantis commented on the Axios report. Speaking on the Ruthless podcast last week, DeSantis said that reports of a feud between him and Trump are a media creation.

“I think this is what the media does,” DeSantis said. “You cannot fall for the bait. You know what they’re trying to do, so just don’t take it.
