The company explores for rough and polished diamonds, copper, platinum group metals, metallurgical and thermal coal, and iron; and nickel, polyhalite, and manganese ores, as well as alloys. Anglo American plc was founded in 1917 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom which is more of a material play a diversified metal & mining category Peers in this group include: NGLOY TECK IVPAF MP LAC TRQ I own BHP, VALE, FCX , NGLOY & SOUHY as plays in the basic material sector. They represent about a 15% portfolio position w/ BHP & NGLOY equal weight; FCX about 50% of BHP , SOHOY 10% of BHP and VALE (recently started this) about 2% size of BHP. ANGPY represents just under a 1% portfolio position but is a 'pure' play in Platinum. ANGPY is about 18% the size of BHP (my largest basic material holding). Might be time to so a small add to ANGPY.
