Gottfried , I have been receiving a candlestick study from a long time student of ta . This investor explains his calls and he has been right on . I will e-mail you one of his calls for your observation . He says that his monthly candlestick charts predict direction better the daily or weekly charts . In the support of Iomega's advertising blitz : I have noticed in the past that whenever a company would advertise to the point that it would take my interest their stock price would move up . I have never seen a study to support this but it has been my observation that it happens. This makes sense because the companies name becomes embedded in the viewers mind after seeing a number of adds . I think that AOL is a very good example of how advertising effects a companies stock price . Truff has been right in that AOL's stock price should not be $100 when you try to evaluate the companies business . What you have a problem with is how popular the company has become because of their constant advertising blitz . Without advertising , AOL's stock price would be much lower IMO . K.E. stated in the last conference call that advertising works the best after one sees an add some seven times . I had a business one time where I was involved in setting up my own advertising . I read a number of books on the subject and they all said that your return on the advertising budget would higher after viewer would sees the add some seven times . Have a good one , Herb
