Let me suggest, Doren, that if you are going to do BeOS, you
add a multiple processor card. These are starting to be
dumped cheap, especially since the 604e is being displaced
by the G3, and little in the Mac world currently supports
dual processors. I picked up the dual 604e 180 for $329 a
couple months ago, you might be able to get a similar deal
for a dual 604e 225 in the near future, which would give you
almost 3x the performance of your 8500/150.

>>My fear is in the race to add features, we are moving away from what made the Mac successful in the first place... the simplicity of the GUI.<<

Also, I might add, the simplicity of the hardware. Came with a built-in monitor, system software and everything ready to go.

Perhaps a small, compact, computer with an color LCD panel, plug and play to common peripherls (printers, modems, servers) and bundle of useful software; word processor, spreadsheet, web-browser, simple graphics, ability to play a few games.... Oh my God!! is this the Newton!!!
