Totally agree about the hawks. They're pretty, but voracious hunters. We had a bird bath/fountain at our old house and I literally saw hawks come down, grab a bird, fly over to the split rail fence and devour the poor little things at least 5 times. I think the birds were always killed instantly by the impact, and it was interesting to watch, but I'd prefer not to know. gg

Saw a Pygmy Owl fly through the other day when I was outside. They're pretty veracious bird hunters too.
