I agree, Amats statements coming out on Tues, will really tell, where Sfam and the entire sector go from here. There seems to be two kinds of thoughts (1) The Asian debacle, has bottomed out and business will get better, hence the nice run up with these stocks, in the last 10 days (Sfam up 6points on wed) or (2) Asia woes, worse than the Street was expecting (Qcom thurs, Sfam fri). The real test for investors poised to make pereived bargin buys next week, imop, will be the analysis of Amats going forward release. What will make it real tough, is not next qtr (the street already has that gloom factored in) but it is not ready to hear negatives going out farther than that.
Its a hard call. I'm not going that way (don't have the balls, plus don't have a clue) but the shorts might have the edge.
A lot of this shit is plain luck. I sold all of my Sfam last wed @ 27 1/2, the next day, I'm kicking myself for missing the other 3 points and this morning feeling relieved that I'm not going to get killed, next week.
Keep your eyes on Amat and good luck to all.
