i think you have raised an interesting observation. the chinese arent stupid . I remember when I read that the chinese started building hospital to take care of covid cases. i was suspicious then.

I am speculating two reasons. either the vaccines they use dont work on omnicron or they have already seen another variant that they find disturbing. they are being fastidious in how they are isolating athletes participating in the olympics,
