"But Delta was more deadly than the previous strains…"

Nope.

If you visit the web site "WORLDOMETER" at worldometers.info , you will find that they have been plotting the Daily New Cases and the Death Rates, on a daily basis of the Coronavirus.

There you will see the following two charts, one for "DAILY NEW CASES" and one for "DAILY DEATHS" for the 4 Variants that the world has so far experienced .........

As can clearly be seen the Death Rates for the ongoing Variants/Mutations have declined, bearing in mind that "DELTA" was the third Variant.

Each time a new Variant entered the scene there was a daily increase for the first 3 variants where each went to roughly the same peak. However, the most recent OMICRON Variant had a major surge in Cases but the Death Rate has been LOWER than all the 3 previous Variants.

That is in line with what I previously stated that as a Respiratory Virus mutates it becomes more Transmissible but less Virulent, i.e. Deadly.

Unfortunately all that the majority of the Main Stream Media has concentrated on has been "Cases, Cases, Cases" with virtually NO REFERENCE to the decline in the Death Rate.
