Yes, you are quite right. That talk about "keys" makes no sense and sounds like "wishful thinking". Only SI MANAGEMENT can appoint a new Moderator to an EXISTING Board. And only an officially appointed MODERATOR can do what Moderators do, such as banning, etc ......

Only SI administrator can give authority over an established thread, and the only Bill gave D. Long his SI login and password info. I don't know whether or not that SI would care, but with that info, he can log in as Lindy Bill and manage any of Lindy's moderated threads if he needs to. If any riff raff tries to crash Politics for Pros, he can kick them off. So far he hasn't needed to..
