Mark, thanx for your post. I am still holding on my VNW 20 Jan 99 NN leaps and a smaller( 800 shares) than my previous 20K NN shares position . I think telephone expansion @ greater bandwidth is still the name of the game in the future. Telcos like to try products for 1-2 years before buying into it and nn has that time-test lead in hand in addition to the better technology. I strongly doubt that CSCO or LU, or NT or ASND will be able to catch up. Also, CSCO " one stop " theory maybe flawed. As technological knowledge expands exponentially it will be impossible for one company to be " all things to all people ".That is like having a " one stop doctor" or the current managed care craze in the USA:it's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole; it can't be done. As a medical specialist myself I have a bellyful of laughs at that, all the time i.e., that a GP can do what I can.
So I think when WAN expansion time comes in, sooner than later, NN will be knee deep in it. I am currently holding on to Vivus an erectile dysfunction Co, but I'll be looking daily into jumping back into NN more heavily ASAP.

Dunnery Best (& Midland Waldwyn) is respected - I too follow his
articles and like what he has to say. I would add, however, that
besides needing to "deliver revenue growth, and provide an idea of
its next moves.", Newbridge needs also to deliver on some concrete
evidence of cost containment/management.
