I don't pay a lot of attention to AH trading. If it's down 4% at the end of tomorrow from today's close I'll decide it means something, particularly if that's on heavy volume. Still remember not too long ago when WSM traded down something like 8% AH following an earnings beat and by the end of the next day it was up something like 6% over the previous day's close.

Strange things happen in the market after 4 p.m., ET - why I have never dared to venture there. ;)

It's not the beating of earnings and revenue expectations that are the focus here with MSFT and other companies, it's the forward looking guidance. Growth companies that have a difficult time raising growth expectations when high growth had already been priced in, is going to see price disappointments in spite of meeting earnings expectations.

Analysts may react more positively tomorrow after digesting the results of the earnings call, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm ready to add more MSFT if the market reacts favorably to them over the next day or two, otherwise I'll wait for a much lower price point.

MSFT is a full position and when the market is in decline, that's when I get fussy about valuations. I continue to see growth rotating to value so I'm using more caution.

If our positions were smaller, I might have a different viewpoint.
