Anecdotal stories of "missed" sales are also characteristic of any product with greatly increasing sales. Always possible that a co will report less than expected sales anytime they have to report. But assuming this from individual stories of isolated stores is hardly DD, to say the least. I view the store reports on the thread (including my own) as casually interesting. (And yes, there are a lot of retailers, and a lot of short term ineffeciencies in decision making.) I wouldn't alter my view of any stock, positively or negatively, based on these isolated reports.

We all hope Radica doesn't report disappointing sales for a quarter. But we can't know that until it happens. IMO, we won't see that, but I could be wrong.

One of the nice things about this thread is that it hasn't fallen prey to those "trash mgt for any reason" posters that I see smelling up other threads I follow. They'll get here eventually, but this is pleasant for now.

Always room for improvement!
I have sold many different types of products(lawnmowers to oil filters) to many major retailers. The restocking of products depends on how that retailer purchases the product. In the case of Wal-Mart they want the best aquisition cost they can get. This means they have to buy directly from the factory which greatly increases lead times, and offers no fill-in orders(at least quick ones) when you do not purchase enough the first time. That is why I always told the buyers of my products "You can't sell a lot unless you buy a lot". Computers were also a salesmans worst enemy, as they cannot sense trends, hot items, or the weather. I suspect the inventory levels we are seeing at the major retailers are a rationing out of product to each location because they did not buy enough.
Fishing is not really a passing fad, I think its been around for a while, so I still consider these store stock levels a bullish sign for Radica. Also just can't wait for NASCAR and reports from the field on these sales.

I B.Long Radica.

Jonathen,

I think you are misconstruing the phrase "missed sale". I don't think RADAF is missing a thing. They are selling everything they can manufacture and then some. You can't sell more product than you can make. They are adding manufacturing capacity as we speak but it will take time for it to come online. In the meantime, I won't shed a tear if RADAF's wharehouses are not full of unsold toys just waiting for that next big order to come through from Walmart or whomever.
