Giving up or Why not ashes in the ocean? Canada has done alright in the pandemic, Trudeau has been doing a good job. The national deaths per million figures are easily accessible on Worldometer for comparison. Look, go there and sort by Deaths per Million, Ascending. Canada is in 133rd place, the US 207th. We have fared quite poorly compared to places that were serious, Australia 64th place, S Korea, 66th. Masks and lockdowns work. Wired says there is an actual book value you can assign to a corpse you know. Avoiding all those deaths as Australia did was quite wise, we tried but fell short, the US did poorly. (Trump) No one is listening to the unvaccinated 10% who think they should be on the transplant list. Nor do we pay any attention to parents who want to brainwash their children, we use a curriculum. You are allowed to try and teach your children magic if you wish, as long as they pass math. And you can teach them your preferred superstitions as long as they pass Social Studies 10. We don't care if parents agree with these basic arrangements, they do not own the children. When children turn out to be murderers the parents are not responsible, do you think they are? Your answer poses the obvious question, why does being a movie star mean so much to you? Perhaps you should think about the values you are projecting, perhaps fame isn't the only thing? Has it ever occurred to you that you could devote yourself to something helpful. I detect ennui in your soul. Sitting around pining away because you didn't become famous on the Internet is a sad fate. You could take some of your SI earnings and start an education campaign, something local. Here is a great local article in a Kelowna paper, Castanet on a UNBC study about melting BC glaciers. You could start a local campaign and educate kids, maybe call it "Save the Glaciers". UNBC has local experts you could hook up with to learn something of the science involved. Then you can pass on to everyone the dangers posed by climate change, become helpful, feel worthwhile. It would dispel the ennui you project, you might also become famous and could stop pining away. You could change your will so your your ashes are scattered at sea, avoiding the box, enjoying the swim.
