Tenchu's Thoughts: Why the Brandon Should We Care About Ukraine, Part Two

Biden Sanctions Plan Targets Russian Banks, Companies and Imports If Ukraine Is Attacked - WSJ

WASHINGTON—The Biden administration is narrowing its targets for a barrage of economic sanctions against Russia if it attacks Ukraine—hitting major Russian banks, state companies and needed imports, though the strategy faces obstacles that have hindered previous pressure campaigns.

...

Off the table, for now, are sanctions on oil and natural gas exports or disconnecting Russia from SWIFT, the basic infrastructure that facilitates financial transactions between banks across the world, said one of the officials.

*******

Weaksauce. Complete and utter weaksauce.

More evidence that President Brandon doesn't give a Brandon about Ukraine.

Putin seems obsessed with restarting the Cold War.

And we have nothing but chickenhawks puffing out their chests and telling everyone else that they're "guilty of treason."

Even the media is acting like Brandon is "putting teeth into the threat of sanctions," yet this article flat out states that we will NOT put sanctions on oil and natural gas exports. Nor will we disconnect Russia from the SWIFT network.

At least Brandon has reiterated that we won't be sending in any troops to Ukraine. That doesn't even seem to be a question, which is as it should be.

But if the Brandon administration really wants to put "teeth" into the threat of sanctions, they should pre-emptively state that all energy exports from Russia will be banned the moment Russian troops step across the border. And Russia will immediately be disconnected from the SWIFT network.

Instead, Brandon only wants "targeted" sanctions, as if they mean jack. Makes anyone with an IQ above room temperature wonder who exactly is the appeaser here.

In conclusion, the answer to the question, "Why the Brandon should we care about Ukraine," should be obvious by now.

But the left can't answer that question in simple words. Which is why, when it comes to foreign policy, they will ALWAYS be blown around like dust in the wind.
