I have listened to the conference call, and I am simple flabbergasted that people on this board are tolerant of these explanations.

Be real -- the reported revenues are 4-5M, a shortfall of >60%. This is not sad; this is not disappointing; this is an absolutely devasting quarter. There were no good explanations for this -- no good explanations whatsoever.

There were two basic reasons given. Syswiz and other royalties were very often 0 from important OEMs because volume "commitments" tendered were flat out wrong -- so royalties were essentially prepaid last quarter. This explanation begs the question of management competence, but the next reason leaves no doubt.

About half the salesforce left the company, and supposedly $1 Million per day was lost versus forecasts in early January. This means that "forecasts" didn't take into account what was actually happening. That is, these imbecilic marketing systems thought that business was being booked while what was actually happening was a flight of the salesmen. The salesforce knew that sales were not being generated; how could management not know?

Even if these guys were leaving because the "new" COO was going to clean house anyway, management should certainly have made sure business kept coming in.

The Asian excuse was ridiculous. Business dropped no more in Asia than anywhere else.

Looking forward -- well, they did blow everything out. Of course, this horrible quarter gives them a an opportunity to do so.

How is this company going to make money? Does anyone have any idea what the unit royalties for Syswiz are? How are they structured? By PC, by usage? by demonstrated savings to OEMs? What happened to the rest of the businesses? Other than USB which is dead?
