No, that's not quite what I meant – my point was that I seem to have very little stock-picking ability outside Sweden. (I've gotten lucky with a few Norwegian co's like Veidekke and Protector Forsikring which I like a lot, too, and have some hopes for Treasure (which basically own Hyundai Glovis at a discount, and trading at a discount itself – "discount-on-discount") – and also some Danish/Finnish co's – but that's about it ¯\_(¨-)_/¯) It seems to me now that one should mainly focus on the country which one lives in. Especially if that's one's native country, and/or the country which one knows the best. One knows and understands on a whole 'nother level: the companies there; the culture; the rules and regulations; the conditions for business; etc. That said, I do venture out sometime. (This evening, I will buy a couple of shares in JP Morgan, maybe GOOG too.) But my conviction is just so much higher here. And there's little reason to look elsewhere too; we have so many stock per capita: 1000+ publicly traded co's (!) on a mere 10 mn population. I see the companies working in my back door, more or less.(Quite literally; I'm physically surrounded by several of my largest holdings; they are constructing quite massive public works in my neighbourhood. That's quite an amazing feeling, to feel like "I own part of this!".) Mean reversion: yep, this is my main thing too. I'm way better at knowing when to buy/sell, than what to buy and sell. And buying something which one understands/respects/trusts (preferably both co. and leader), so that one has the confidence to keep buying when others sell despondently, and sell when they are buying euphorically. (It helps if it's so cheap that one can't keep from buying – and if one is so cheap that one can't keep from selling when it approaches full value/have appreciated "a lot"...) I am up on ORAN, but only because of currency reasons (the USD has rallied against the SEK). Will probably keep it until I'm out of cash. You should never follow me... I am a inexperienced, ignorant one... Especially not in non-Nordic stocks! (': OPRA; didn't know that was a Norwegian browser/co! Attractive fall in stock price. Very attractive financial ratios too (although I'd like a longer stock history). Will follow you in with a post there. Thanks for the idea!
