I am not sure what you are talking about? The Republicans have been carrying water for the rich and powerful and against progressive social planning since Hoover, Haring and Coolidge. I usually take it back to them, but Paul Krugman takes it back to the gilded age of the late 1800's! Do you think the Republicans supported FDR's new deal? The rich do not want to pay for social programs, just like now and they have used the Republican party to keep taxes low for over 100 years, according to Paul Krugman. Are you not aware of Reagans infamous words: " Ronald Reagan “Most Terrifying Words – ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’” Quote or No Quote? Do you think this is new with the Republicans? Nixon was as evil as Trump, as was Reagan and the Bush's. If that is not what you meant, enlighten me. << And that has been the political dynamic for the last 100 years. Sorry, koan, where have you been the last 10 years? You certainly missed the moment when political dynamics turned backwards - from democracy to dictatorship here in US, and many other countries. How do you explain this?
