It is about Nixon and Reagan. Are you not aware that Nixon used the "Lee Atwood Southern strategy" appealing to the south racists after the 1964 civil rights act to woo the "Dixecrats" to the Republican party??

The south used to be mostly Democrats! When the Republicans woe the south with racism, how can you ignore that!!?

And Reagan vilified government programs talking about "welfare queens".

The Republicans like the Nazi's lied their way into power by fooling the most gullible people.

It's not just about Democrats or Republicans, not about Nixon and Reagan.
It's about the people.
It's just scary that significant part of US population - tens of millions of people do not see any value in democracy and would gladly accept a dictator for life.
My point is - you may scream loudly "We are moving ahead to triumph of democracy and liberal democratic values" exactly when we are moving backwards - to autocracy, dictatorship and fascism.
Stop painting everything in pink, when brown color becomes mor and more dominant.

You say that, yet Democrats are consistently moving away from freedom and democracy while we continue to fight for it. It is your tribe demanding Rogan's speech be shut down. Demanding Trump shut be not only prohibited from speaking but imprisoned for doing so. These are Democrats. You do not hear Republicans doing this. Or locking people up for fake Jan 6 crimes. Or for committing cold blooded murder against a helpless victim, a 100lb woman, 5' tall, unarmed. T hat was you. Not us. Or for calling in provocateurs to start a battle with capitol cops to have some basis for throwing those victims into American Gulags withoutn due process. While the Lindsay Graham types may think it okay, most Republicans believe Democrats are the criminals here. You, not we, are the criminals.
