We had visiting employees from Japan that would spend several months training at my HP division in CO. I became good friends with one and when it came time for him to return I packed a complete beef tenderloin hard-frozen and packed with dry ice surrounded by newspapers in his luggage. It made it OK and he later told me he had a huge feast with all of his relatives enjoying the beef (outrageously expensive in Japan).

I also hunted pheasants in KS and once packed a half-dozen in my luggage before visiting my parents in Florida. When I reclaimed my luggage in humid Orlando, it had white splotches of frost all over the outside, but the pheasants made it in great shape! I always wondered what the baggage handlers thought.
