I realized at the time that I was rather clumsy and inarticulate, but I decided to wait, just in case you didn't want to play Quibble. This is what I was trying to say; "anybody who looks at this as an all or none response isn't a serious player."

"I don't want to be involved in what is essentially a land dispute between Russians and Ukrainians"
People said that about Sudatenland, too. If being involved means troops, we won't be involved. If it means supplying equipment and imposing heavier sanctions, we've been involved for 8 years.

"Now if you want to talk about economic sanctions and how best to deal with Cold War 2.0, I'm open to honest discussion over that".

If there's an invasion, there will be sanctions, intended to get Russia to withdraw. Will that work? I dunno. Will that be enuf to deter other countries from trying the same thing? I dunno. Will Putin try to take everybody down with a massive cyber attack? I dunno.
