No I do not think that the earnings can sustain the market at it's present level. Then again I think MSFT and DELL are both overvalued and have been for a long time. Most companies are diversified into other regions, such as Europe.
However, what affect will Asia have on these countries that do serious global business. Ericsson will be affected to a point, but not as bad as QCOM, which relied on Korea heavily.

However, as long as investor keep pouring money into 401K's and mutual funds, the market will remain artificially high . Remove that or slow that growth pace, then the market is in trouble.
