I got that word from the play that Lincoln was watching at Ford's Theater. I was researching the Latin "Death to Tyrants" that Booth was supposed to have shouted. I found something even more interesting. He had been waiting for a particular line in the play that was really funny. He wanted the laughter to cover up what he had planned.

"Sockdologizing" is the word in the line that caught my eye.
