Interesting, though. So different from here in Canada, where health insurance, paid through our taxes, is seen as part of the social contract. Some people object, of course, but most of us like the way it keeps our overall costs roughly half of yours, as bentway pointed out.

If I am forced to help you out in any way, it is potentially an invasion of my freedom. That's not say I shouldn't help you out but that is my decision, not someone else's.

The idea that another person can command me to do something isn't addressed by the Bill of Rights I don't believe; but it would be contrary to the fundamental premise of freedom -- that I may be called away from watching the NFL game and forced to labor on someone else's behalf seems a little counter-intuitive.
