IMHO - this was a very smart PR which was intentionally or unintentionally published. As some one with double "citation" from Signal Corps Command and Armored Corps Command and a person that participated in several covert operation and 3 REAL wars the slip of tongue was not something that just happen. .. and in my opinion was a very smart move from a military point of view. Most SI writers on this tread never experienced war (and do not wish they should as it is horrible in contradiction to the romanticizing of war by TJ) and do not perceive that the spread of inaccurate or false news is part and parcel of a war to confuse the other party. Remember Chamberlin famous agreement letter from Hitler? In one of the covert operation I participated a day before the action, some irrelevant news where published in the context of a way out and afar incident with the expectation there something will happen but never did. This enabled us to do our job in quiet and unexposed. Similar situation when crossing enemy lines - the actual activity was supposedly in a complete other place and we could work undetected and salvage munition and military hardware under the cover of night. In a nutshell paying attention to distraction prove the gullibility of the writers on this tread As to Ukraine no one on this tread paid attention to the empty undefended highway from Minsk to Kiev which for Russia seems like a walk in the park to takeover Kiev. Well friends that would be in case they invade Ukraine from Belorussia, Russian army "killing field" of innocent soldier - they will be decimated as it was done in 1973 in the "valley of tears" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_of_Tears ) and to Saddam Hussein army retreating from Kuwait.
