I really don't think many doubt that.

At least if you compare it with the current usage situation rather than the way things were half a century ago when people paid mostly out of pocket while buying "major medical" policies to cover the big stuff, back before employers started offering "health insurance" as an employment benefit. It's all the values stuff and ideological stuff, seems to me, that needs to be overcome.

You'd have to pitch it that only the deserving would get subsidized health care. And leave the decisions up to the states.That could probably pass.
