They sent the members that were best suited for the task.

No, they didn't. The purpose of the committee is to conduct an inquiry. They had plenty of options of members who can ask hard questions. Had they sent some who weren't potential witnesses if not subjects, interested parties, things would have been different.

Even better--a commission with wise old hands rather than current members.

But no, better to try to stonewall and cover it up. How's that working.?..

I've never heard of a suggested committee member being a potential witness or collaborator. That might be a factor in it never happening before.

But you think Trump should have an advocate on the committee. Something I can pretty much guarantee you that has never occurred to anyone else before.
